Kayak Rescues
Hey, you’ve learned your basic strokes and maybe even your braces, but what do you do if, in the middle of a lake, in a moment of inattention, you capsize and have to bail out? If you knew you could get back in your kayak (re-enter) wouldn’t it give you great peace of mind?
That’s the aim of this class – to give you peace of mind, to give you the skills to self-recover, and the skills to help others who may have capsized and have no clue what to do.
If you ever plan to paddle offshore, you need this class. In it, we’ll teach you how to use your paddle float and bilge pump, how to do a rodeo re-entry and how to assist in T and X rescues.
This is an active class so we’ll be in the water a good bit. If the creek is cold and you need a wetsuit, we have suits available to borrow.
